Irvington Wedding Chapel @ the Playground

Irvington Wedding Chapel is an affordable wedding venue in Indianapolis, offering small civil, religious or spiritual weddings. The LGBTQ community is gladly welcomed.

We are located on the eastside in Historic Irvington. We accept walk-ins during regular business hours Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We may even be able to book your ceremony the same day. Contact us if you are interested in holding your ceremony and/or reception in the Irvington Wedding Chapel.


Wedding in a Music Box Package – $2500

Irvington Wedding Chapel recommends this package to couples that want an intimate wedding (50 guest maximum), but one that also has all the bells and whistles for a price that cannot be beat. Reception time length is 3 hours.

Ceremony Rates

Irvington Wedding Chapel has three simple ceremony options to choose from. Our ceremonies include an officiant and are held in our beautifully decorated 360 sq ft Orange Room or our 1000 sq ft Blue Room.

Chapel Ceremony Rates

  • Up to 10 guests: $99
  • Up to 20 guests: $149
  • Up to 50 guests: $250

Reception Rates

Irvington Wedding Chapel has reception options available. Our private receptions are held in our large 1000 sq ft Blue Room, with access to a 360 square foot room and a 350 square foot cocktail area. We include up to 50 chairs at no additional cost.

Reception Rental Rate (No Cash Bar)

  • $75 per hour

Food/Catering

We allow clients to bring food, hire a caterer or we can recommend a caterer. We have up to 70 chairs available and 4-2×5 buffet tables available for no extra cost. For guest seating, we can refer you to an affordable rental company in the area to rent tables. Please note that our wedding venue does not provide/serve any food items or serving ware. Client must provide all disposable serving ware needed; our facility does not have sinks or dishwashers so disposable serving ware is required.

Reception Packages (includes Rental Rates & Cash Bar)

  • 2 hours: $400
  • 3 hours: $450
  • 4 hours: $500

Bar selections are beer, wine and mimosas. Combine any or serve all 3 options. Bar cups and wine glasses are included in the price. Bar service must be provided exclusively by venue, no outside alcoholic beverages permitted.

Reserve Your Reception

A 1-hour deposit is required to reserve a reception (without a cash bar). Reception packages (with cash bar) must be paid in full to reserve.

Note: If a specific time and date is desired, we REQUIRE calling or emailing before submitting payment to ensure desired date/time is available. If payment is made prematurely and desired date and time is NOT available, client must either schedule on an available date or incur a $50 penalty fee if a refund is requested.
